That’s right Tappers when you login to you Springfield today you’ll see the message that the Yes Guy has been unlocked and should be live in your Springfield!  He does come with a full list of tasks AND his own questline…not bad for a free character huh?

We’ll be back with the Turbo Tappin’ version of the Yes Guy’s questline AND a WDTCF (yes he’s appeared in several Simpsons episodes) but for now enjoy the new free character we’ve unlocked!

Here’s to 1.2 billion gift bags and the Candy Cane Power Plant skin!

P.S. He is voiced! (Sorry I had my sound off at first…)

Bunny here…Turbo Tappin done and ready to drop on you all in a few hours (it’s so fun to make you wait in anticipation. Muhahahahah.) In the meantime, Yes Guy will be the one to keep available, of course. First up will take 60 min, after that well…I guess you will have to wait n see. 😛

WHEEL… OF… FORTUNE?

You can replace fortune with FRUSTRATION, FORMULAS or according to others, some other “F” words if you like.

How’s every one doing?  Been strolling around the wide world of TSTO and recently I’ve noticed quite a few folks intensely focused on the Holiday Wheel that came with this year’s holiday update.  What at first seemed like such a cool concept has ended up being a hotly debated item.  There are folks who have become disillusioned, feel cheated, don’t care, want that last item that is taunting them.  Whatever the case, it is definitely one of those items you either love or hate it seems.

Should I Spend Donuts on Candy Kevin?

Christmas has arrived in Springfield!  But, with all of the new Christmas premium items that are limited-time it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Candy Kevin to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding this guy to your Springfield.

Tapped_Out_Candy_KevinCharacter: Candy Kevin
Donut Price: 40 donuts

Pros:
-Reasonably priced.  At 40 donuts he’s 5 donuts less than the K9 Officer.
-Festive Character for your town

Cons:
-Despite being a character in Tapped Out Candy Kevin does not come with any tasks, so he is a Non-Playable Character
-No Questline
-After Christmas there really is no point to have him roaming around your Springfield (like the Zombies at Halloween)

Final Thought:
Personally I think you’re better off saving your donuts and passing on this one.  Candy Kevin really provides no benefit to your Springfield and aside from the entertainment value of a man dressed around as a giant Candy Cane, it really has no return for your invested donuts.  So, unless you’ve already purchased all of the other premium characters or you’re a completest, I’d pass on this one and save your donuts.
Just remember whatever you decide this is a LIMITED-TIME character and once it’s gone, it’s gone…so be sure to get it before the event is over if you’re thinking about it.

Should I Spend Donuts on the Trashcan Fire?

Christmas has arrived in Springfield!  But, with all of the new Christmas premium items that are limited-time it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Trashcan Fire to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding this decoration to your Springfield.

Tapped_Out_Festive_Trash_Can_Fire
Decoration: Festive Trashcan Fire
Donut Price: 3 Donuts
Conform-O-Meter: +400 Vanity
Unique: No

Final Thought:
At 3 donuts the Festive Trashcan Fire is one of the cheapest premium items you can purchase.  However, unless you think it’s something that you absolutely need to complete a certain look in your town, this is something I would pass on.  There really is no great benefit to adding it to your Springfield.

Just remember whatever you decide this is a LIMITED-TIME item and once it’s gone, it’s gone…so be sure to get it before the event is over if you’re thinking about it.

Should I Spend Donuts on the Reindeer?

Christmas has arrived in Springfield!  But, with all of the new Christmas premium items that are limited-time it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Reindeer to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding this decoration to your Springfield.

Reindeer
Decoration: Reindeer
Donut Price: 20 donuts
Conform-O-Meter: +200 Vanity
Unique: No
Bonus: 0.50%
Bonus % Per Donut Spent: 0.025%

Final Thought:
The Reindeer can be a fun little addition to your Springfield (and Christmas Village).  They do pay out a bonus percentage (although not the greatest in the world) and offer a conform-o-meter boost to your Vanity rating.  This is something I did purchase myself, I like the addition to my game. (Don’t forget, if you log into your game Christmas Day…you will get one for free.)

Just remember whatever you decide this is a LIMITED-TIME item and once it’s gone, it’s gone…so be sure to get it before the event is over if you’re thinking about it.

Should I Spend Donuts on Holiday Tree?

Christmas has arrived in Springfield!  But, with all of the new Christmas premium items that are limited-time it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Holiday Tree to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding this decoration to your Springfield.

Holiday_Tree
Building/Decoration: Holiday Tree
Donut Price: 75 Donuts (of free in Gift Card Personal Prizes)
Conform-O-Meter: +200 Vanity
Unique: No

Pros:
-Earns you extra gift cards, Earns 75 Gift Cards & 45XP every 24hrs. After Christmas will turn to cash.
-Nice Holiday Decoration to your town
-Will earn you Vanity points in your Conform-O-Meter.

Cons:
-It comes free as a personal prize
-After Christmas it’s a bit out of place
-No Conform-O-Meter Bonus % payout
-Adds vanity points, but that’s currently the easiest to max out

Final Thought:
Save your donuts on this one!  You’ll unlock it for free as a personal prize (fairly early in the Gift Card collecting too).  So unless you think you want/need more than 1 Holiday tree in your town save your donuts for something else.
Just remember whatever you decide this is a LIMITED-TIME item and once it’s gone, it’s gone…so be sure to get it before the event is over if you’re thinking about it.

Should I Spend Donuts on Santa Village?

Christmas has arrived in Springfield!  But, with all of the new Christmas premium items that are limited-time it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Santa Village to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding this village to your Springfield.

800px-Santa's_Village_Tapped_OutCharacter & Building: Santa Village & Homer Santa Skin
Donut Price: 200 Donuts (ouch!)

Pros:
-Comes with Santa Homer, another skin for Homer, and earns a premium rate on all his tasks
-The Village will earn you $300 & 30xp every 24hours
-Many great outside tasks, including Homer Flying Santa’s Sleigh around your town (ala Arnie Pye & his helicopter)
-Makes a great addition to a Christmas area in your Springfield, along with Claus Co, Santa’s Workshop etc.
-Homer is Santa!

Cons:
-Although the Santa Village originally unlocked a quest for Homer Santa (last Christmas) this time around there are no additional quests with the Village.
-A costly premium item.  At 200 donuts it’s the most expensive premium addition to this year’s update (and one of the most expensive in the game).
-Only Homer Santa has interaction with the Santa Village, and it’s only 1 task.  No other characters interact with it.
-No Animation
-No conform-o-meter points for it

Final Thought:
Personally I purchased the Santa Village.  It was something I wished I had from last year, but never got.  I enjoy the Santa Homer tasks.  It’s a great fit with Christmas town, but it is an expensive addition.  For something that offers no real practicality for your Springfield it may be something you want o pass on, at those prices!
Just remember whatever you decide this is a LIMITED-TIME item and once it’s gone, it’s gone…so be sure to get it before the event is over if you’re thinking about it.

Santa Homer’s Tasks:

Task  Task

Do the Rounds 6hrs $350, 90xp

Endure the Whiney Kids 12hrs $600, 150xp

A holiday WDTCF Ramble about the Egg Nog Bar and Santa Flanders

Whaaaaaazuuuuuuup!  Do you remember that obnoxious advertising campaign?  If not, Mytube has them I’m sure.  They were beer commercials.  Funny at first and then mildly irritating and then searing your brain cells.

One of the best parts of getting to blog on this site is sharing my love of The Simpsons with anyone who takes the time to read my words.  I love the show and have seen every episode at least once.  Recently, I’ve had a great excuse to re-watch them more and more just to talk about decorations, characters and buildings that have been added to TSTO.

Watching every episode, I can’t help but notice that the available content for TSTO is enormous!  Any watcher could rattle off at least one thing they think should have been added to the game already.  I’m actually mildly jealous of the folks who get to do this for EA.  Anywho, with the holiday update, a lot of content got added to the game.  Much of it is from Christmas episodes and some is from classic episodes.  Looking at all the new stuff, I picture a boardroom full of nerds like myself pitching their ideas.  I know there was at least one lazy guy who mentioned the totem pole which was designed eons ago, definitely one weasel with a flair for consumerism (and getting folks to spend donuts) and probably a dude who has gambled a little too much online.  In addition, one of them definitely loved the 500th Simpsons episode aka Season 23, Episode 14: “At Long Last”.

EA did their utmost to give us a ton of new stuff in the holiday update and for a Simpsons nerd like me, I couldn’t be happier.  One of my favorite things is that besides all the stuff from episodes, we may have actually got some original content!  What might be unique?  Two things, The Egg Nog Bar and Santa Flanders.

WDTCF – Springfield Skating Rink

Well hello there holiday tapperinos!

Wookiee back with another where did THAT come from. You may have noticed I got all hip and shortened the words into a spiffy abbreviation. Cool, eh? As it seems that recently some of our ideas have been catching on in other blogs, we figured we’d do every one a favor and shorten it for future “borrowing”. Nothing says the holidays like gift giving, right? Since Bunny coined the phrase, I decided to go all military abbreviation crazy and kick things up a notch lol. Seriously though, I’m probably just too lazy to type the words. You know how I hate to type words.

So you ready for this round? You really want to know just where that Skating Rink comes from?  Well, before you all line up like Oliver begging for more, I’ll just get started. Besides, none of you really want to hear my Artful Dodger impression anyways.

Walking in a Wookiee Winterland

Wow… how cool is this new event?

Looking for friends?  Check out the ADD FRIENDS area of the site. Unfortunately, all requests not placed there will be intercepted by The Grumple. He’s a mean moderator, that guy.

Anywho… I don’t know about you but I really feel like this update was so worth the wait.  Just the first glimpse of my town had me all Chrismistified (thanks Alunited1961 for the EPIC word).
