WOW EA!!! It didn’t just snow, it is a frakkin BLIZZARD in Springfield. So much content, so much going on, my poor lil Bunny brain is about to explode.
Where to start…
Lets begin with a few simple things because I know some of you are already looking for this information. Much like with Halloween, we will have prizes both Individual and Community we will need to be collecting towards (Calendar coming soon). This time we are acquiring gift cards, gift bags, and golden coins. With the gift cards you can reach the Individual and Community prize levels. With the bags you can share with your neighbors and help them achieve the prize levels.
You will find these cards and bags “hidden” around your Springfield in the form of presents you will be collecting. Want more? There is a way to get more. In your “Limited Premium Christmas” items menu, there is the Elf Home for 60 donuts. (You also will WIN this item when you hit 6000 Gift Cards.)
Every 24 hours, the Lil Elf face will appear over the house.
Once tapped on, it will send 4 lil Elves all over your town to “find hidden gifts”. These will include the 3 mentioned above. You can place as many as these lil houses around your town as you want. Similar to the Ghost Zapper at Halloween, I noticed they only cover a limited space.
So if you only buy one, you will have to move it around to cover different areas you want the to go find hidden gifts at. It is nice to help you collect the prizes fast, but I will post more on a “Should I Buy” later for this.
Next item I wanted to bring your attention to. Many of you are looking for the lights and Christmas Decorations for the houses and how to get them. Look no further, they are part of a prize wheel. The Holiday Giveaway Wheel.
Now this little item will become your best friend. Once you have collected 250 Gift Cards, you will be able to receive the Egg Nog Bar.
Once every 24 hrs, the Egg Nog Bar will give you one Golden Coin (you will see how many you collected in the top right corner of your main screen.)
To use it, you will click on the Coin icon and it will take you to an alternate screen with the Holiday Giveaway Wheel. Use your finger to spin it around. Once a prize is given out, a new one will take its place. So you can win TONS of items this way. (You need to earn at least one coin first for the dialog to start and the Wheel to be activated, you will get one from the Egg Nog Bar every 24hrs or from collecting gifts around town if you get lucky.)
The wheel has prizes on it like Christmas light Decorations for many homes and buildings, Character skins (like Homer Mr Plow), Snowmen, and Snow Monster to name a few.
So that is some more fun info for now. Still tons more to come as we continue to collect all this data and attempt to make sense of it. Lol.

I heard on thesimpsonstappedout.wikia.com that spin tokens can be found from presents rarely, like doughnuts on Halloween. Is this true? Can anyone confirm it?

This refers to the holiday skins for building you can win on the Holiday wheel. Once you have the nog bar placed, you earn a chance to spin every 24 hrs.

The holiday wheel is the free way to get these. You get one free spin every 24 hours. All of the Christmas skins for the buildings are available there.
As far as I can see, you have to buy premium decorations. Ruling out anyone who can’t pay for premium content from. Advancing in the Christmas storyline.
For which part of the Storyline? The entire main Christmas Storyline can be completed with out spending donuts. 🙂
I accidentally tapped a neighbors uncollected spin coin floating above the Egg Nog Bar…Did I cause my friend to lose that coin?
We tried to replicate this. I was not able to recreate being able to tap a neighbors coin. I believe what you saw was actually YOU collecting a coin in a neighbors town. I wouldn’t worry about it. Enjoy. 🙂
No, you’re friend did not lose a coin. And you were correct you did tap on a coin in their neighborhood. But it wasnt an actual coin. It was just like the gift card you click on as your daily action in their town. When you tapped on it money and gift cards popped out of it. Just like when you tap on the gift card on their buildings, you don’t actually collect that gift card you tapped, instead money and a gift card worth 10 pops out of the one you tapped on. It’s the same thing as the coin you tapped on. It’s just another daily action icon. I’ve seen about 3 of them so far. And each time money and a gift card worth 10 pops out of it. So your neighbor did not lose a coin.
In the simpson tap out Christmas im on level 37 have done the bonus rounds a few times they asked me to do the face of holidays quest pt. 1 Have types of decorated housed i brought some things like my cracker bells but it still says i need 0/3 what do they consider types of decorated houses please help
That is the house skins (lights/etc) that you can win playing the Holiday Giveaway Wheel.

I already have the Egg nog bar and I already have one coin, but not coin icon on my screen. That coin that I got, I suppose it was when I completed the quest to get the bar (don’t wanna lie, but memory fails me a lot). So do I have to wait for the bar to be ready to be “harvested” again and get the second coin in order to unlock the wheel?

If you click on the coin icon in the top right, it should take you straight to the Holiday Wheel. Good luck!

Sorry. It seems several people have run into this. Try the standard troubleshooting like in this prior post. If no luck, follow the steps in the link within the post to contact EA so they know how wide spread issue is. We’re researching on our end and will have more info available if we get it.

Has anyone noticed that “yes man” is in the character list under more oddballs but there is no sign if me cosington? Is he a character or an npc?

You won’t see him because he comes with a building. Theres no way for them to list the same prize twice for the building and the character that comes with it
I would say he is the fourth community prize. The shape of the shade is exactly like the character in More oddballs.
That character is actually the Yes Guy. Mr. Costington comes with the department store.

Clausco, all ten Christmas lights skins from last year, Helter Shelter, Mr. Plow skin for Homer, Plow King skin for Barney, Ice God decoration and Snow Monster.
Wookie this is crazy all these prizes. Are some the prizes premium purchases, and with Halloween you could drop 10 gremlins wait for them to be collected and drop another 10 etc. with the gifts are we really limited to 5 per neighbour per day? don’t answer I will wait for your blog.
I Would just like to say THANK YOU EA for the character finder! How awesome is that?! WOOT! That was the most tedious part, as I know you are all well aware.. but YAY!
I haven’t seen it mentioned, but my tile I had going for weeks was gone with the update. Did they fix the Squidport tile thing?
And yes I jumped the gun a teensy bit, I bought some things I couldn’t wait for. The Lisa and Bart snowmen, and snowball (2%!), and that rocket powered bike. hehe But that’s it! Waiting patiently to see what is and what isn’t worth the donuts. You guys are the best. 🙂
I used the finder for the first time tonight and am completely in love with it. The fact that it even anticipates you’d want to send other characters on the same time tasks is righteous. Unfortunately, the SqP, Channel 6, Farm and Stage glitch was fixed with the update. I bought some stuff too before weighing pros and cons. It happens lol. While we don’t feel any different than other tappers, I will say constant readers/commenters like you ARE INDEED THE BEST!
It looks like, when giving tasks to the people of Springfield, it stops on the most commonly given task (I mean when I am giving 8 hour tasks, clicking on other character menu is set on the task with same time), so that I do not have to roll and seek the right task anymore from the beginning.
It seems like it actually stops on the exact same time frame (if it exists). I noticed that when I had to give a 4 hour task to Smithers and for a moment thought my 1 hour tasks for the rest of my characters disappeared.
That has been my experience. The finder will automatically cycle to the task closest to the time frame for the one you selected previously. Really cool IMHO.
A tip, when you hide all buildings, it doesn’t hide the freak show. I decided to put my freak show in storage, since it takes up a lot of room that I feel I will need for this event, and there were 2 presents hiding under it! 🙂

Loud and proud sir. Also, Peter it’s true that the task menus now auto-scroll to the most commonly assigned task length (mine is 60m…yep I’m that kind of addict). Finally, a quote from after you get all 10 personal prizes:
“You can now win free Spin Tokens for every 1000 extra gift cards you collect!”
Looks like the Spooktacular bonus will be for Spin Tokens rather than donuts this time!

oh, and whoever’s doing the TSTOaddicts game, earlier I went by and it was really hard to find buildings to tap for my 3 a day. not placement, it just appeared they were all tapped
Found a glitch don’t rush the mall. I did and now I can’t finish the quest for it. It still shows 0/1 and there is no button to finish it is just blank. Hope they fix this soon so I can get my gift cards from that quest.
Try storing it and pulling it back out again

OK just figured it out thanks bunny you inspired me. I stored it and did a hard shut down of the app then reloaded and placed it and tada the text triggered and quest completed hope this helps if others have a similar issue. And thanks again bunny for your tip you rock!!!!

oh and with the mall the same thing happened to me. what you want to do is not place it after you store it. after its been put into your inventory go to your taskbook and click on the task, it will take you to the menu and you’ll place it from there. it took me 3 times for it to get to work with the shelter but once with the mall

You have to FIRST get at least ONE Golden Coin. Once you do, it will start the dialog for the Wheel. From that point on, you will see the icon in the top corner. Once you click on it, you will be taken to the wheel. 🙂
Gift #4 is probably the elf house … I wouldn’t spend your donuts on it just yet. 🙂 check the screen cap above and then compare it with the shade in the gift section, look very similar … Think you need 6000 tickets for it, have over 3000 already just by visiting friend’s Springfields and I’m a freemium player.

Does this mean then that I cant decorate the 10th house until I have spun the wheel at least once for the first quest? I only have 9 buildings that I’m able to ‘decorate’. Are you able to provide a list that tells exactly which buildings can be decorated?

I dropped a couple gift bags in a friends town and they went behind buildings! The elves would be useful for that, but as a freemium player now I’m wondering if there are gift bags somewhere in my town, behind a building, slowly getting covered with snow…
Try hiding your buildings to see if you can spot any. Follow the steps in this post 🙂

Easiest way is to go into your “edit/move” menu and hide all the houses and buildings. Then you will be able to see if there are items behind them
Just use Hide buildings option, but do not turn off decorations. You will see presents behind the buildings.
The outline of the 4th Personal Prize looks like an Elf Home to me, I’m sure the addicts will confirm soon, but I sure hope we have a free one coming!
