Tapped Out Halloween Walkthroughs: Strongman Homer

I know Homer is required for A LOT of different tasks throughout the Halloween Event, but Strongman Homer is one questline you can put off for as long as you need to.  However, once Possessed Homer dines with Marge at the Truffle he’s no longer needed for the main Halloween questline so you’ll be free to send him off on all of the other various quests.  Keep in mind, once you unlock the costume it’s yours forever, you DO NOT have to finish the Strongman Homer questline in order to keep the costume.  Take your time and have fun!

Have you unlocked your Strongman Homer Costume yet? If not you can find out how to get it from the Simpson’s Attic here. If you have unlocked the Strongman costume it comes with a pretty amusing little storyline. This is something you can start after you’ve completed Part 11 of the Ghost in the Machine-base App (where Possessed Homer dines with Marge at the Truffle). Once you’ve unlocked Strongman he’s yours, so you don’t have to worry about completing the task before the Halloween Event is over…which is good news with all those Homer tasks!

Should I Spend Donuts on the Raven?

With all of the Halloween premium items that are limited-time it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Raven to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding the the Raven to your Springfield.

Character: The Raven
Donut Price: 30 Donuts
Unique?: Yes

Pros:
-Reasonably priced
-Flys around when tapped
-Limited-Time character from last year that was brought back. Great for new tappers and Android players who couldn’t play TSTO last year because it wasn’t available on Android.

Cons:
-No tasks are assigned for the Raven
-Does not come with an unlock quest
-No interaction with other characters and/or animals in Springfield

Final Thought:
Personally I think you’re better off saving your donuts and passing on this one.  The Raven really provides no benefit to your Springfield and aside from the entertainment value of his flight, has really no return for your invested donuts.  So, unless you’ve already purchased all of the other premium characters or you’re a completest, I’d pass on this one and save your donuts.

Should I Spend Donuts on the Cauldron (& Witch Marge)?

With all of the Halloween premium items that are limited-time it may be overwhelming trying to decide which items to buy and what to pass on. With that limited-time label on items I know it can be tempting to just buy everything you can. But, have no fear! That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth your donuts & what you might want to hold off on.

 Wondering if you should add the Cauldron to your Springfield? Well before you hit that confirm button, let’s break down the Pros and Cons of adding the the Cauldron to your Springfield.

Donut Price: 75 Donuts
Unique?: Yes, only 1 Cauldron per Springfield
Bonus: 2.25% (bonus cash & XP to all tasks)
Bonus % Per Donut Spent: 0.03%
Pros:
-It unlocks the Witch Marge Costume for Marge, with a whole new set of tasks that earn at a PREMIUM rate (50% more cash & XP)
-Ability to speed up a crop
-Limited-Time costume from last year that was brought back. Great for new tappers and Android players who couldn’t play TSTO last year because it wasn’t available on Android.

Cons:
-No quest line with it.
-For 75 donuts you’re not adding a new character or building, mainly just a costume and decoration.

Final Thought:
Honestly…if you can swing it, I say go for it. This is one of the more sought after items to the game, and the fact that EA has brought it back for this Halloween is AWESOME. At 75 donuts it’s not the worst item you can buy. Plus you’ll earn a decent bonus percentage rate AND premium rates on her tasks.

You Put the Pumpkin House Where?!?!

Hey Howdy Hey Addicts!

The very first GOO Item you earn in the Halloween Event is the Pumpkin House.  At 100 GOO just about everyone should have the item by now.  What I want to know is where you put it and what you’ve done with it?

Sunday: What’s in the Simpson’s Attic? Answer to the Triva

So despite the Simpsons THOH episode not airing until tonight EA has decided to let everyone take a crack at the Trivia before it airs.  So here’s the deal and how you unlock Strongman Homer…
Throughout the week we’ve been collecting little parts of the Strongman Homer costume:2013-10-05 06.42.57
Today when you tap on the Simpson’s Attic (go to the Simpson’s house and tap on it, then find the attic option and tap on Go):

The question is: What item of Moe’s does Homer Covet in this season’s Treehouse of Horrors episode?
The answer is….An Emerald Ring.  Check that off, as soon as you do you’ll receive 10 FREE DONUTS (woohoo more FREE Donuts!!), then tap continue..

As soon as you do you’ll unlock Strongman Homer, and his costume will AUTOMATICALLY appear in Homer’s list of costumes when you tap on him.

Don’t Forget the Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors XXIV Tonight!

Hey howdy hey Ghostbusters!

With everything going on for the Tapped-Out Halloween event it’s easy to forget that tomorrow is Sunday and you know what that means??  Time for a brand new Simpsons and this week is the Treehouse of Horrors Episode!  Be sure to watch Treehouse of Horrors XXIV Tonight!  And for our friends not in the US who will not be able to watch the episode tomorrow, don’t worry we’ll have a full recap right here as soon as it airs!

To get you ready for the episode tonight, here’s a preview released by FOX of the opening sequence for this year’s show:

Oh and EA has released a new “trailer” for the Halloween Event of TSTO…it’s been awhile since they’ve had a new game video out…Play Tapped Out, it’s free…sorta!

What’s Up with the Premium Gremlins?

So if you’ve explored your new premium options in the game you’ll see two Gremlin options you can purchase for donuts. For two donuts you can purchase a trio of Gremlins and for 10 donuts you can buy 20 Gremlins.

Curious about these? Well it’s pretty simple really. They’re just extra Gremlins you can purchase to drop in your friend’s towns. Yes, that’s right you can purchase Gremlins for donuts to drop them in your friend’s towns to earn GOO…the same Gremlins you can get for free just for tapping Ghosts & haunting buildings (haunted buildings too).

There is absolutely no added bonus to using these Gremlins vs. the free ones.

My opinion?
Save your donuts for something that can/will provide you with bonuses and/or conform-o-meter points. In the long run that’s the better investment!

Weekend Update: September 29th- October 5th 2013

It’s been a busy week here at Addicts!  We’ve been busy tapping away to bring you all of the latest and up-to-date information about the Halloween coverage.  So if you missed anything from the Addicts team this week, here’s your change to catch up!

Voting is LIVE for the our Spooky 2D contest and the “polls” close on October 14th.  So be sure to vote for your favorite 2D here

-Sunday we kicked the week off talking about the Season 25 Premiere of The Simpsons (Homer-land) with our quick hit post and recap of the episode.  And Bunny gave us a great recap with screenshots in her D’OH Merland post

-Monday we prepared the site for the Halloween event with some new updates to the menu bar and the addition of the all new TSTO Addicts forums

-We also announced the top 5 contestants in our Spooky 2D contest!  (be sure to vote here)

-Bunny and Wookie teamed up to provided us with a GREAT Addicts How-To on Stitching images of your town

-On Monday we also introduced the new regular “column” in Hey Addicts Caption This! Where we ask you, the amazing Addicts readers, to caption some of the funny moments caught in Screenshots of Tapped Out.

-Of course we had another addition of TSTO Anonymous by our group leader..the one..the only Wookiee!   So if you’re feeling a little more addicted to TSTO with this event check out Wookiee’s meeting post!
