The nerds have invaded Springfield!  Ok just one nerd, and he’s not all that bad.  And only in Springfield can Professor Frink, with the help of Homer, open up a black hole that transports doppelgangers, robots and Stephen Hawking (!) to our pocket sized Springfields!  So time to crack open those hologram wallets, because there’s a store full of multiverse theme premium items to spend our donuts on!

Of course with that limited-time label it can be tempting to buy everything because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Addicts Open Thread

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  So, let’s get the conversation going!  Oh and remember…just because this is posted here today doesn’t mean you can’t comment on it all week long.  This open thread will still be open for comments long after today is over!

Here’s where you can talk about anything you want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of the Simpsons) but for the most part you’re free to talk about ANYTHING your little Tapping Fingers desire…just keep it PG.

The Sci-Fi Event hit our games this past week, and holy smokes Stephen Hawking is in Springfield!  What are your initial thoughts on the event?

 

Well after 11 weeks we finally have our Bracket Challenge Winner!  What are your thoughts on the winning character? Think EA will listen to the will of the Addicts and add any of the characters?

Don’t forget about the contest!  We’ve been dropping words in posts for the last week…have you collected them all?  Submission for will be up early this week.

Season Recap: The Fuzzy Guide to Season 26

Hey hey friends!

So, courtesy of one heck of a cold (by the time you read this it’ll probably be gone so no need for chicken soup or well wishes my friends), I found myself with some extra time to write and said to myself, “Self… what do you want to write?” I’d finished the last episode recap for Season 27 and thought about doing one big recap for the season. Heck, I’d done that with Season 25 and 26. But wait, there’s a reason there’s no link on the second set of numbers. This walking carpet never did a season recap for 26. With extra time, cold meds on board, and a box of tissues, I decided to go back and revisit the season, mainly just rereading a bunch of words written on this site and re-watching a few of my favorites, in an effort to have one big recap. Here are some thoughts on the the 26th season of the Best. Show. Ever. It’s amazing that as of the end of Season 26, this animated sitcom had ran for 574 episodes over 26 Seasons. Haters can say what they want but that’s some serious longevity. I’m well aware of the “classic” period of the show but can’t agree that it’s just kept going like a juggernaut without some good stuff along the way. All season, we recaped each episode for you. The following are just some thoughts I had about each episode. The long episode recaps are linked in each title if you’re interested. For fairness sake, I’ll throw out a SPOILER ALERT for anyone who hasn’t seen the episodes as I may discuss plot points. Click more if you don’t care or want to hear more of my thoughts or both.

So… if you hadn’t noticed, I’ announced last week that I started a podcast. Alissa has been an amazing supporter of this endeavor by yours truly and in her usual benevolent fashion, is allowing me to remind readers here of episodes as they come out. Since weekends tend to be slow for posts (as we enjoy the time with our friends and families), we’ll post these on Saturdays just as a reminder. I know a bunch of people like when I ramble and this format allows for that to the extreme.

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers! After 11 weeks of voting it’s time to crown our Bracket Battle Champion!  Remember this is just for fun…no way is this an indication that EA will add the winner to our games.  Really just a fun way to see what you all thought.

How much longer EA can keep Tapped Out going is up for debate. There’s Easter Eggs in Them Thar Homer MultiVerse(s)

To truly appreciate some of this update’s  dialogue, and especially that which comes from the “Multiverse Homers” you need to understand a little bit about multiverses in general. This is complicated by the fact that the majority of the most brilliant theoretical physicists don’t completely agree on the concept as more than “Theory.”

For those who want a bit more “Multi-faceted” explanation, Here is a Semi-Quick WIKI post about the basics of the theory and its origin.

For those who just want a quick theory, while part of you is reading the Wiki theory, and another part of you is doing something completely different in another time/space that is happening at the same time, you have just become an example of the basic idea.

In short…(I know…too late), Schroedinger, Hawking, Tyson and countless others believe that this universe, and everything in it, have several (up to an infinite number) of other parallel universes, where your actions in this universe may in fact be different than your actions in the other universes…at the very same time.

Confused yet?  Pishposh…

I prefer to think of it as the actions in THIS universe being choices we make…Free Will choices…which may or may not affect the actions/results in other universes, but which are all tied to a single external consciousness that is outside of ALL space/time.

OR………IF YOU HAVE ANY OF THE HOMER SKINS that are ALSO NOW MULTIVERSE Characters in this update… You can just LAUGH at the “Easter Eggs” (a term that means, hidden surprises…but won’t rot in the sun if not found), that come with this update.  There are a few!

Should I Buy? Soul Extraction Institute- Robo Burns – Doggy Smithers Combo

Let’s establish a couple of things before we start.

First, some who know me, would say I have a “Cranky Attitude” when it comes to spending donuts on TSTO Items.  I would prefer to use the word, “Pragmatic.”  The sound you hear is my five daughter’s eyes rolling from points across the country. They HATE it when I use the word “pragmatic,” because they know there is some “common sense wisdom” coming their way, when they are making a decision.

Second…and even more important, as I learned a LONG time ago when it comes to raising kids, or giving advice to people you don’t know, I ultimately have no control whatsoever over the outcome. You are ultimately going to do whatever you want, exercising your “Free Will” to “Pull the Donut Trigger,” or leave said donuts with the “safety on.”  (for the record, you should always have the safety on when storing your donuts).

Now…TO THE TASK AT HAND!
