Addicts Bracket Challenge: Most Desired Skin, Week 9 – The Finals!!!

It was four years ago, just after the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs bracket was complete and I was filling out my bracket for the 2014 FIFA World Cup that I thought it might be cool to do a The Simpsons Tapped Out bracket. Here we are at the next World Cup and it’s time for our fourth TSTO Addicts Bracket Battle!

How much longer EA can keep Tapped Out going is up for debate. But what isn’t debatable is that there are plenty of character skins in the rich history of The Simpsons universe still not in our little game. We present to you TSTO Addicts’ Most Desired Skin Bracket Battle.

Moe’s Ark Act 2- Prize Guide – T-Rex

We are finally at the final Prize of Act 2,  which as I have intimated in other posts, has absolutely nothing to do with the Zoo…or the Great Plains…or Baboons or much of anything with this event.

But...it is a FULL CHARACTER!
Woot. Woot.

T-Rex is from a completely unrelated, yet pretty darn funny episode that pokes fun at Portland Hipsters. And let’s face it…there is plenty to laugh about when it comes to Portland Hipsters.  You don’t find these types in almost any other place in the world (except maybe Georgetown/Brooklyn, NY), but you will now find at least ONE of the family that moves in next to the Simpsons in the episode that brings the “Coolest” kid ever… T-Rex.

No. He isn’t a dinosaur. He is a kid. And now…you HAVE HIM!

Again…with the woot, woot! (which is an expression that nobody who is really cool would ever use).

Let’s take a look at the 6th and Final Prize in Act II… T-Rex!

Addicts Open Thread

Time To Talk Through Tumultuous Troubles, Terrible Turmoils, Terrific Tidings & Tappers Telling Tales

(This week’s thread is sponsored by the letter ‘T’)

It’s that time of the week again, time for the Addicts Weekly Open Thread!  With another Tiny Addict on the way, I’m going to help the Mother of Addicts, the Queen of the Tappers, the Protector of Six Events, the Great Aleesi (Alissa) with these Open Threads for the coming period.

Addicts Open Thread is a staple of this site that dates back to January 2014.  Only 10 of us readers (myself included) commented on that first open thread way back then, and here we are nearly half a decade later and tens of thousands of comments later.

The Addicts Open Thread is where this site truly becomes a community, where we can talk about anything we want to talk about…TSTO Related, Simpson’s Related or ANYTHING.  Just no Add me requests…those should go here.  We’ll give you a few suggestions (like most Sunday’s you can talk about the current episode of The Simpsons) but for the most part, you’re free to talk about ANYTHING you desire…just keep it PG.

So, here is your Open Thread…..

We’re coming to the end of Act 2 of Moe’s Ark, how have you fared with the prize track?  Taking in our tips for progressing through Act 2?  Excited to have Sarah Wiggum finally in the game? If you’re still on the fence, be sure to check out the SIB here.

ICYMI…the Bracket Battle semi-finals are underway.  You can check it out here.  It’s coming down to the nitty-gritty.

And finally, how about the rest of your weekend?  Do anything fun and exciting?  How was your past week?  Any plans for the upcoming week?

So chat about The Simpsons, TSTO, TSTO Addicts, or anything else you can think of! (Just no politics, it never ends well)  We can’t wait to chat with you all, as you know we love hearing from you!

Have Fun!  And happy Sunday!

Super Safi’s Stats & Strategy Special: Yellow Submersible!

Salutations Senors, Senoras, Senoritas, Statisticians & Strategists,

(Today’s post is sponsored by the letter ‘S’)

Hi, I’m Super Safi and you may remember me from such stats and strategy posts as KEM Farming and the advanced losing-to-win Superheroes battle strategy.

What better way to spend your time than talking math. So from time-to-time, I’ll come to you with a post that delves into the wonderful world of numbers, stats, and/or strategies.

While we’ve previously discussed the Minigames found within our game, such as  Springfield Downs and the Go Kart Track last year, Stats and Strategies extend well beyond the Minigames. Today we look at the stats of the Yellow Submersible!

Friday Filler – Living In a Tap-Free Zone

For those of us who have been Tapping in TSTO for more than half a decade, the concept of living in a “Tap Free Zone” is unthinkable!  And yet, when it comes to other forms of tapping, there are those of us who have spent a lifetime seeking places to tap…away from those who despise the sound.

When I was growing up, I knew who these harbingers of “Anti-Tapping” were, and did my best to avoid them.  But it was hard…

I grew up tapping…and banging…and pounding…and for someone who has “tapping in their soul,” avoiding the anti-tappers was far more difficult than it may seem.

As it turns out, “Anti-Tappers” may in fact be clinically incapable of liking tapping. And while I just thought my Mom, most of my teachers, and several friends and relatives simply hated my constant tapping, it turns out they may have actually had ” a condition.”

It wasn’t until the year 2000 (shortly after the madness of Y2k), that the condition (some would call it a disease) was proposed. And goodness…if it is deemed a true Psychiatric Condition…we HAVE to give the Anti-Tappers a bit of leeway in life. Right?

Or are we just enabling Anti-Tapping behavior?  Don’t ask my wife… she claims to be a bona-fied sufferer of Misopohonia, the dread “Anti-Tapping” disease.

Don’t believe it’s real? Read on…

Should I Spend Donuts On Knifey Spooney & Crocky Waters?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Lions and Tigers and Emus…oh my!  The Springfield Zoo (aka Moe’s Ark) event is in full swing in our pocket-sized towns!  Of course, by now, we all know that a new event means a new excuse for EA to fill our stores with limited-time premium items to tempt us.

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add Knifey Spooney & Crocky Waters to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding this Aussie Duo to your town…

Should I Spend Donuts on the Returning Giant Grasshopper, Mutant Rabbit, Chirpy and Bart Jr or Vicious Monkeys?

Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!

Lions and Tigers and Emus!  Oh my!  It’s the zoo event in Springfield and of course a new event means all new content, and of course loads of returning content! Lots of items to drop those sprinkles on…

As we all know, that limited-time label can tempt us to grab everything in sight because it’ll be gone soon.  But don’t sweat it!  That’s where we come in to tell you what’s worth those donuts and what you might want to hold off on.

Wondering if you should add the Returning Giant Grasshopper, Mutant Rabbit, Chirpy and Bart Jr or Vicious Monkeys to your Springfield?  Well before you hit that confirm button let’s break down the pros and cons of adding these throwbacks to your town…

Moe’s Ark – Act II Prize Guide – Great Plains

FINALLY!  Something that requires us to upgrade a ton with the currency we have been collecting since Act II started.  You have been collecting and saving the currency...right? Cause you’re gonna need it!

In any case, yes or no, The Great Plains is a place and a placeholder that allows you to add animals, and upgrades to make it even “Plain-ier”…even if you are almost out of room in your Zoo Zone.

It pretty much is just the start of something bigger…

Like the real plains…which can go on and on forever. Like this event.

Let’s take a look at the details.  Continue reading →

Moe’s Ark – WDTCF – The Character Gumbo Addition

I give up.  When I started to do a Where Did That Come From post for some of the main characters we win or can buy in this event, I realized quickly that EA and the Writers are REALLY reaching into their huge grab bag of random characters to come up with the offerings for “Moe’s Ark.”  People keep asking why it’s named that. I suspect now that it has to do with the “Two of Everything” concept.

And I get it. We have more than 600 different episodes from which to pull…so why not just close your eyes and reach into the bag, and see if you can make it work with the Event Theme (that someone most likely came up with while doing the same sort of word game).

And not to take away from the overall outcome, like a good Gumbo, it’s not so much that all of the parts actually make sense, its how you use them.  But, trying to make some connections to the episodes and the title?  Uhm…not so much.

Let’s break down where some of the Primary Prize Characters came from.  But, I’m warning you…if you are looking for “Moe” or “Ark” or even “Zoo” in the titles…you are going to be confused.
