Light ’em Up: Christmas Lights In Springfield

“So light ’em up, up, up…Light ’em up, up, up…Light ’em up, up, up”

Hey Howdy Hey Hall Decking Tappers!

So Christmas is my favorite holiday/time of the year (in case you couldn’t tell).  I’m affectionately known in my family as a Griswold, because I tend to get a little carried away with the Christmas lights….maybe a little more than Clark….so I’m really LOVING the Christmas lights on the houses in Springfield.  By now you all should know the only way to get the lights in Springfield is via Krusty’s Holiday Wheel (you can check out Bunny’s post on it here), but do you all know which houses you can light up?  Let’s take a stroll through Springfield and see just who can be festive in 2013! Update: My apologies…originally I had the Wiggum house on this post but it’s not actually in the game.  That’s what happens when you go through game files with bloodshot eyes for hours on end (it’s in the files, not in the game).  Sorry for the confusion everyone!

First up the decorations from 2012….so if you played last Christmas you may already have these:

Wonder how long Agnes had to nag
Skinner to put up the lights?

So that’s it Tappers…the fully holiday light show in Springfield this year!  Remember you can only unlock the lights (unless you want to buy premium) by spinning Krusty’s Holiday Wheel.  You’ll earn 1 spin every 24 hours via the token that appears over the Egg Nog Bar.  You’ll also occasionally find tokens in gift bags and boxes, but just remember they won’t always appear (kind of like finding a donut from cleaning up Springfield).  So be sure to reset your Egg Nog Bar every 24 hours so you can collect as many coins as you can.  You can also purchase more coins in the store (50 donuts for 10 coins) if you really want everything right away!

Happy Coin Collecting Friends and don’t forget to deck those halls as soon as you can! (and think of me when you see your electric bill this month…I can promise you mine will be 20x higher :))

PS: If you’re having trouble decorating your houses here’s a quick how-to.  Simply tap on the house (as long as you have the lights) and you’ll see a toggle screen.  Just switch the facade of the house from normal to the lights.  Yes…it really is that simple 🙂

  1. Thanks again I was going to ask about the coins in the gift bag as I heard fellow Tappers had been lucky.

Am I right in thinking we will eventually win everything on the wheel as long as we keep spinning?

As for the lights on the houses I spent doughnuts on Frinks was this a mistake are these lights on the wheel? I think this Xmas Spirit is getting to me might cut down on the snowballs.

    • Only saw main houses on wheel. Eventually yes…you will win items if you keep going. Just gets less likely to hit the “good ones” near the end. Mainly cards n $$$. Post coming soon.

  2. If you’re planning to get the premium snowmen, buying some tokens with donuts may actually be worth it. I spent 50 for the 10 pack and got 4 snowmen, which would have cost me 80. Since you’re only guaranteed one free spin a day, and half my spins so far have been gift cards, there’s worse things you could spend your donuts on.

  3. Loving the decor this year and that almost everything is decked out!! I have them all but realized yesterday that Wiggum’s house is still bare. I’ve won all the prizes on Keusty’s wheel so where do we get Wiggum’s decoration? His house looks so pitiful right now!
