GUEST POST: Those Squidport T1£€$!

Below is a re-post of some amazing info compiled by our friend Em at Topix!  You can find out more from our friends at TSTOTopix.com!

The Squidport extension was released 12th of June 2013 and is a permanent addition to the game. It will become available when you reach level 15. It is a multimillion dollar investment that will most likely take over a year to complete.

I consider “tile” to be a Four-Letter-Word that should not be used around children, so I will not use it in this post 🙂 Squidport will consists of 150 pieces of wood that you can place your SqP items on.
For those of us that began SqP when it was released and have not rushed any, or only a few of these slow, stupid, hateful, expensive pieces of wood, we are just starting on the $12.5K / 60h ones. I need at least 10 more to finish my very, very basic design. I will have no room for new buildings before Christmas 🙁
How slow and how expensive are these things anyway?!
#1-4 instant, free
#5   $250/1h
#6   $450/2h
#7   $850/4h
#8   $1.7K/8h
#9   $2.5K/12h
#10 $3.35K/16h
=$ 9100 / 33h – 1 day + 9h
#11 – 15 $ 5K / 24h = $ 25K / 5 days
#16 – 30 $ 7.5K / 36h – 1 1/2 days = $ 112.5K / 22 1/2 days
#31 – 60 $ 10K / 48h – 2 days =$ 300K / 60 days
image
#61 – 90 $ 12.5K / 60h – 2 1/2 days = $ 375K / 75 days
#91 – 120 $ 15K / 72h – 3 days = $ 450K / 90 days
#121 – 150 $ 17.5 / 84h – 3 1/2 days = $ 525K / 105 days
Total $ 1.766.600 / 358 days + 21h
You can, of course, rush these stupid things using Donuts. ~ 4300 Donuts is needed to get a 150 piece SqP instantly. Me, I’d rather spend my money on something else but I did rush some of the T1£€$ so I could continue the SqP quests.
The SqP quest has 11 chapters and 32 parts. To finish the entire Squidport quest you’re required to have 31 of these blasted things. This will take you 35 days + 21h if you don’t use Donuts to speed things up and it will cost you $ 156,600.
And that’s just the totals for the T1£€$! Add the costs for the buildings and decorations required the sum will be $ 698K including the minimum land/seaplots you need.
Happy Tapping!

2D Lesson Numero Dos: El Barto

elbarto

Happy 2D Tuesday everyone!  Hope you’re all hard at work on your designs for our Spooky 2D Contest! We’ve already gotten a few submissions, but we’re looking forward to seeing what the rest of you come up with!  Don’t worry though you still have plenty of time to get your designs in, 12 days to be exact! For those looking for a little more advice on creating their 2D designs here’s another helpful 2D How To brought to you by the one and only Wookiee!

Bunny brought you the basics of 2D. I just wanted to pop in real quick with a little more help.

Please don’t take this the wrong way but the honest truth about becoming good at 2D is practice, practice, practice. When I first started seriously, I copied images created by our very own bunny. Through trial and error. I slowly got the hang of how to do these.

To help you out, I found two images of Bart that are pixelated. Using these, it is not terribly hard to place the image in your town. As bart is a very popular character, I hoped this practice would inspire my fellow tappers.

Level 35 and the Conform-O-Meter

I know I still owe everything the rest of the Conform-O-Meter break downs, but with the release of Levels 33, 34 & 35 so close together it’s been hard to get all of the info out to you in between updates.  I promise more details will be coming soon!  Today, however, I wanted to talk about Level 35’s impact on the Conform-O-Meter.

The Conform-O-Meter is an important part of Tapped-Out because it provides you with a bonus boost in your cash and  XP from everything you collect in the game.  When you achieve a 5-Star Town (it’s max rating) you will receive a 5% bonus on all money and XP collected in your town.  If you missed the previous Conform-O-Meter posts check here for the basics and here for how many points you’ll need to reach 5 stars.

The Level 35 update has introduced 4 new buildings, 4 new characters, 3 new decorations & all new point amounts required to reach a 5-Star Springfield.  At Level 35 here’s what you’ll need to max out your Conform-O-Meter:

Level Indolence Obedience Consumerism/
    Gluttony
35    440    260     240/276
Tree-hugging
     /Vanity
Righteousness Socialism
16945/27020        146     1344

Now I’m sure you’re wondering, ‘How will the new buildings/decorations help me max out?’  Well, here’s how:As you can see, Level 35 has increased the Indolence Rating requirement (+10, 1 more house), the Obedience Rating requirement (+10), the Tree-Hugging Rating requirement (+1,130), the Vanity Rating requirement (+1,600) & the Righteousness Rating requirement (+8).

Item Cost Category Points
Popsicle Stick Patty & Selma $8,300 Vanity 550
Popsicle Stick Disco Stu $8,300 Vanity 550
DMV Limo 50 Donuts Vanity 500
DMV $240,000 Obedience 10
Disco Stu’s 180 Donuts Obedience 10
Spinster City Apartments $391,500 Obedience* 10
Springfield Pet Shop 90 Donuts Obedience* 10

*The game files are showing both the Apartments and the Pet Shop as contributing to Obedience, however my own experience is that the Pet Shop did positively impact my Consumerism rating.  With the apartments I did notice my Indolence rating drop slightly when the game updated, and remained slightly dropped after the apartments were down.  So it is possible they do contribute to Obedience instead of Indolence (like Krabappel’s apartment & Springfield Retirement Castle).  Once I built 1 brown house my rating was back to 5 stars.

Let us know how your Conform-O-Meter rating is doing!  Are you maxed out?  If not, what area currently needs a boost?
