Hey Howdy Hey Tappers!
While we’ve got a little bit of downtime I thought I’d work on something players have been asking me to update for a while now…the list of playable characters in TSTO.
We’ve got a list here, but I’ve been terrible at updating it. (Last update was Sept of 2016…🤦♀️) We also have a full list of character costumes here, but that also hasn’t been updated since Sept 2016. So now I’ve updated both lists through the Classless Reunion Mini-Event, so this is up to date as of, today, March 28th, 2019. And hopefully I’ll remember to update the lists with each event…although if someone wouldn’t mind reminding me to do it that would be tremendously helpful. (I’ve got a lot on my plate and mind, I’m always forgetting to update stuff…🤹♀️).
And yes, I plan on updating both of those linked lists here shortly.
And now without further ado…the character lists…
By my count, there are currently 443 playable characters in the game (this doesn’t include NPCs)
And 178 costumes in the game, for 52 (out of 429) characters.

I’ve also tried to link relevant information about the characters where available.

I have 400 characters. I missed everything at Christmas 2018, there were way too many cash characters and items and I was stretched thin financially. I got a few of those in the recent event, but not all were offered… no Lee Trevino for instance.

I have 392 characters,only missing 14. I ‘m kind sad, I havnt much to get. I got all the land, expect for about 20 tiles, finished road to riches, got all game cash items aspirational buildings ,finished money mountain/Redwood. All I have left it to reach 2 billion SH, I’m at 1.6. I hope they add more back up goals.
Ducking the tossed shoes – more Roads to Riches! Hit 2 B a few weeks back – it takes some time.

In the character collection for Apu’s family what is the name of the younger(4th member) of the collection? Also, how was he earned? He is one of the few characters I don’t have.

Curious about strategy during this segment of down time. For example, my XP is at ~450% and I have a good amount of items still left in the 30 donut mystery box. Would the play here be to continue to farm and stockpile donuts, or should I use what I farm to open boxes?
You could continue farming till the next update arrives. Then, if that update offers items you like, get those. If not, buy some boxes instead 😉

Mystery Box – it’s still available, but some of your horror stories regarding certain snafus involving Characters, Character Skins, Buildings keeps me from wanting to spend sprinkles here 🤔
I’m working on an index of sorts. What’s killing me is linking. Typing lists isn’t hard (I type really fast), it’s going back and linking everything over that takes forever.
Plus once I do something then I forget to update it. So i’m trying to keep things small so I don’t overwhelm myself and forget everything lol
Put the list into a google spreadsheet and ask everyone at the site to go and add a link from the site in the next column. Third column creates the html and you can select and paste it in.
We’ve done this is the past and no one added to it. People want the info no one wants to do the work

Interesting… some of the requests that people have made in this thread seem like the kind of things that a relational database could really shine at. Does WordPress give you that kind of option, Alissa?
I don’t think so, but maybe? There’s a lot we can do but we don’t do for a variety of reasons…mostly time and energy.
Great job, I was thinking about how many characters I am missing the other day, I think I am about 100 short, don’t know about skins. Will study this list and make a list of my own 😁🏆🥇

Great job on the character list! I’ll never get all of them as there’s many I have no interest in getting. But I have well over half of them so that’s pretty good. This made me think of another possible list. How hard would it be to put together a list of the characters that have odd length tasks? Virtually everybody has 1, 4, 8 12 and 24 hr tasks. What about those with 30 minuntes? Or those with 2, 5, 6, 7 and 16 hr tasks?
It wouldn’t be easy…
From the list that I have been keeping, I see the following missing from your list:

I’ll have to check to make sure that the Itchy & Scratchy Bot is a playable character, but I added it to the list when I got it, so I’m guessing it is. Hope this helps!
Just checked, and the Itchy & Scratchy Bot is not on the character list in the Town Hall census list, so I’ll have to scratch it (or itch it) from my list, making the total 406 playable characters.
Not sure why I added it to the list, but not sure why I do a lot of things. 🙂
Wonderful update, I’ve discovered I’m missing only 2 characters:

There is an alphabetical difference between how Miss Alissa has listed the characters and how the town hall has listed.
I do not see in Miss Alissa’s list
Mooch Bart
Morty
And, of course, the goofy, quasi characters with a single 4 hour task
Parade Roller
Parade Train
Both of which are in the Town Hall but not the Employment Center
But now I know the only two things that I am missing — other than good manners and gratitude.
Mooch bart and Morty are both on the list lol One right after the other.
To me the Parade items are more like buildings.
I printed the list and Mooch and Morty were hidden behind the banner about Piracy and cookies.
I should have re-cross referenced the list HERE.
And while I’m anal, I’m not about to cross reference SKINS.

Thanks for updating the list. Strong work as usual. Quick question: Is there any way to find out who has what tasks for which buildings? For instance: How would I find out which character has a task for Asia de Cuba or Phineas Q Butterfat?? Thanks!
I don’t have them listed by building, and that would take me a TON of time to do. The best way to check at this time is to check each characters task lists on this site, for the most part I’ve indicated which building they go to for their task
Have you thought about crowd-sourcing the job? You could create a Google Sheets or Document file that everyone (or a select few) could edit. Just make a copy every so often in case somebody messes up.

I added an editing column to indicate when someone is currently editing a character, etc.
I’ve tried this in the past, never went anywhere. Everyone wants the info, no one wants to do the work lol
That is a shame. I figure if 100 people spent 5 minutes a day it could be completed in no time. I am willing to add anyone who wants to edit to the above file. Just leave an email address.
Thanks, I’ll check it out. It’s just a shame I have all these buildings that get no love. I wish there was a way to just tap a button to make them all animated, similar to that festive light plunger.
Thank you for an updated list, since I added over 80 characters to my Springfield in the last 2 weeks I wonder what I am missing, I know I likely need 125 or so as I think my number is around 280 but I can put this list in excel and update it as time goes on

Damn, I want them all too! I’m at 395, so I’m close but That’s Not Good Enough! There were a few I didn’t have in the mega mystery box, but because I always empty out every mystery box it was very few, like less than 5.
I’m pretty sure we’re at 406 right now: my Unemployment Office shows 402 characters working and I’m missing 4 (Barbarian, Dame Judith Underdunk, Dr Robert, Furious D).
Looks like the cop “Lou” (not to be confused with the gangster “Louie” 😉 ) and that weird plant monster thing “Xylem” from last year’s THOH Tie-In are missing.
My list has 407 characters. I’ll have to compare to the list above and note which ones are different/missing.
404!!! I thought the 200 characters that I have would have been way more than 1/2, but I am shockingly mistaken!
What would be interesting to add for the skins is which ones payout at premium now
There is a list of that somewhere, I believe.
I just realized the list above indicates (with a P) which skins are premium.
It indicates which skins were premium at release but doesn’t count changes like kung-fu CBG who became premium later on
Ah yes. You are correct. I see a good amount of changes that have occurred with the skins.

Thanks for doing this Alissa. I think the only character I’m missing is the Barbarian since I didn’t start playing until after Clash of Clones. If we could just get Troy McClure and Lionel Hutz in the game, I’d be happy, but I guess that’s not likely to happen.
What I find interesting is the how many characters are not considered “springfielders” who can’t participate in the “send springfielder” tasks
would love a breakdown of what character classes everyone falls into.
